THE SOUTH COAST ROAD BIKE TOUR

The Southern Coastal Tour will give you a beautiful impression of how different the tropical landscape is in this part of Kefalonia. The flora and fauna are incredible and will surprise you. This ride starts in Argostoli and runs along the southern coast and inland valleys to Sami in the East.

After sun-rise, we leave Argostoli to head towards Svoronata on a curvy road through the valley. Then the road continues along the sea heading to the village of Peratata, where we have a great view of the Venetian Castle of Saint George.
On the left we see Mount Ainos and on the right the Ionian Sea with Zakynthos on the horizon.

We stay at 200 meters altitude and via Moussata village, we pass Skala from a distance. Step by step we go around Mount Ainos and the traditional villages give an authentic Greek experience. Via hairpin turns we approach the town of Poros that we pass from a distance.

After Poros we cycle through a fertile valley: the Tzanata Valley. The distance to Sami is 26 kilometers. The climb of 500+ meters altitude is challenging, but a long descent of 12 kilometers near sea level is the icing on the cake. Then it all gets hard again, with a 15-kilometre ascent to the east side of Mount Ainos, on our way back to Argostoli.

After reaching the top of the pass, we nose-dive into a steep road to the De Bosset Bridge. Speed records will be broken and this is the perfect chance to improve your cornering technique. Back in Argostoli we will share our adventure during a nice, cold drink on the terrace.
