Are you a wine connoisseur with just one day in Argostoli? Then this tour is made for you!
Do you have only one day to visit Argostoli, but still want to taste Kefalonia's iconic wines and get a feel for the island's culture and history? Then this two-and-a-half-hour tour is for you.
We set off from the Cruise Ship Terminal and make our way straight into town, passing the oldest house of Kefalonia, Kosmetatos Residence, on the way. From there, we walk on to Platia Vallianou, the lively main square of Argostoli, where we take a little time to soak up the atmosphere.
Next, we wander into the shade of Napier Park, a green pocket of calm right in the middle of town, before passing by the Corgialenos Library, home to fascinating glimpses of the island's past. From here we continue to Kampana Square, one of Argostoli's characterful little corners, before making our way to the Sea Turtle Viewpoint. If we are fortunate, we might spot one of the harbour's resident Caretta Caretta turtles surfacing for air.
Then we arrive at the De Bosset Bridge, the longest stone bridge overseas, stretching out across the bay with views worth lingering over. We pass the ‘I Love Kefalonia’ sign at the port where we can make a memorable picture, before arriving at our final and most anticipated stop: the Vine growers of Robola, where we do the wine tasting.
This is where we really get to know Kefalonia: through its wine. On this island, wine is woven into daily life and history, and this stop is where that comes alive. Settle in for a professional 6-flight wine tasting, with food pairings, and taste your way through the island's finest varieties, including the crisp, mineral Robola, grown high on the slopes of Mount Ainos, and the deep, sweet Mavrodaphne. Are you curious to take a bottle home or to bring one for the road? There's plenty of time to browse and purchase your favourites to enjoy later, wherever that may be.
With a happy glow and a new dimension to Kefalonian wine, we make our way back to the Cruise Ship Terminal, the bay glittering beside us as the tour comes to a relaxed close.
The tour runs twice a day, at 12:00 AM and 02:30 PM, and takes 2.5 hours from start to finish. You will be guided by an experienced Dutch or English tour guide. We will be kept refreshed with a bottle of water, and accompanied throughout by a professional photographer. The pictures will be available later.

Do you fancy doing this tour privately, just you and your group, at your own pace? We offer private tours on request, simply get in touch and we'll take care of the rest.
A walk through Argostoli, a glass of Robola, and always the sea close by. It doesn't get much more Kefalonian than that.
